A beer and music festival taking place this weekend in Warwickshire has sold out, with more than 5,000 people expected to attend.

KenFest in Kenilworth is to double the attendance of 2,000 last year, when it was held for the first time.

Money will be raised for Myton Hospice, which received £4,000 as a result of the previous event.

The initiative at Kenilworth rugby club also includes street food and a children's zone.

Festival director Jai Andrews said: "I think Kenilworth's got quite a unique community spirit and vibe.

"So it was about putting something on for everybody."

Organisers said there would be 80 different ales, ciders, lager and a food village

Sessions start at 18:00 BST on Friday and 11:00 and 18:00 on Saturday and Sunday.

There would be "some amazing local talent", organisers said, with "a few of the highlights" being Horace Panter, Steve Walwyn and Ted Duggan in The Dirt Road Band and Ruder Than U with Aitch Bembridge.

The festival is taking place at the rugby club, which is celebrating its centenary this year.

The festival director, who thanked volunteers, said it was an event "for the community".

He stated: "We found the gap, found the niche and time will tell how big it needs to be in terms of what the community wants.

"But at the moment we're just delighted to be absolutely sold out now."
